Why HOVER wants you:

HOVER is looking for a lawyer to run its contracting process.  You will work with sales executives, business development professionals, and product leaders on transactions that are essential to achieving our mission and powering our daily operations.  This role involves structuring, drafting, negotiating, and advising on agreements with customers, strategic partners, and suppliers.  You’ll also build and improve systems for managing our contracting processes.

You’re comfortable in a fast-moving environment, have strong communication skills and attention to detail, and you’re eager to help people improve their homes with the world’s best 3D property data.

You will contribute by: 

• Collaborate with business and technical teams to lead, negotiate, and finalize contracts of all sizes with customers, partners, and vendors.  Identify legal and compliance risks.  Use strong communication skills to explain legal terms and related risks to non-lawyer colleagues.  Translate complex legal issues into clear advice.  Develop and execute tactics to achieve the most favorable, risk-mitigated results.
• Continuously improve the contracting process.  Implement and improve form agreements and standard terms.  Use technology and strong organization skills to make contracting processes more efficient while protecting the company’s interests.
• Build and manage a contractual compliance process.  Advise business clients, as well as finance and other company colleagues, on contract issues and strategies to mitigate risks.

Your background includes:  

• A commitment to client service
• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant legal experience
• A background in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, with an emphasis on Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) contracts
• Experience with privacy and intellectual-property issues that regularly arise with commercial SaaS agreements
• JD and admission to practice required

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with Colorado law, the base salary for this role if filled within the Denver Metropolitan area is $146,000-$172,000.
